Two scientists who discovered graphene at The University of Manchester have today been awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics.
Professor Andre Geim and Professor Konstantin Novoselov have been awarded the highest accolade in the scientific world for their pioneering work with the world’s thinnest material.
UMAAG welcomes Professor Steve Furber CBE and Dr Odysseas Charalambous in the "Antonis Tritsis" Amphitheatre of the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Athens on Thursday 26 June 2008 at 17:30 in the context of the "Digital 60" celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the world's first stored-program digital computer, which made its first successful run of a program at the University of Manchester on June 21st 1948.
